San Clemente Recreational Grant Program

Bringing Families Together

The San Clemente Marine Corps Support Group’s Recreational Grant Program has enabled over 522 Marine families to enjoy fun and educational camps and classes. This program provides valuable family bonding time while Marines are home, and engages family members while their Marines are away.

About the Recreational Grant

The San Clemente Marine Corp Support Group has partnered with the City of San Clemente’s Department of Parks and Recreation to form the San Clemente Recreational Grant Program. This effort grants Marines and their families up to 80% off the listed price for Parks and Recreation Department camps and classes.

The average salary for a Marine family on Camp Pendleton is less than $29,000 a year. With the San Clemente Recreational Grant, Marines and their spouses and children can enjoy bonding time through programs that are no longer provided on base due to budget cuts. With the help of the San Clemente Department of Beaches, Parks, and Recreation we are working to make quality family time more accessible for our Marines.

How You Can Help

By making a small donation towards the recreational grant program, you can provide a Marine Corps family with access to many different programs that provide valuable family bonding experiences.
